Pastor Emeritus ~ Mike and Sue Frisina

Brennan and his wife Ashley grew up together in a small town in southwest Michigan where much of their extended family resides today. They were married in 2003, halfway through their undergraduate programs, and began to pursue ministry together as a couple. They continued in school, Ashley completing her B.S. in Elementary Education from Grand Valley State University and Brennan his B.A. in Religion and Biblical Studies from Calvin College, while serving as the youth ministry leaders at Calvary Chapel of Kalamazoo Valley. Brennan went on to be ordained and serve as an Associate Pastor at CCKV and Ashley as the Director of Children's Ministry. The Lord eventually moved Brennan, Ashley and their three children (James, Alexis, and Elijah) first to the east side of Michigan and eventually here to Columbia, SC in the fall of 2013 where they began serving at Calvary Chapel Northeast Columbia.

Michael and Shannon met in 1993 while both serving in the Navy. After living on different coasts for two years they married in August of 1995. They spent the first years of their marriage completing their college degrees. Shortly after their 4th anniversary they had their first child, and are now blessed with 4 children. Being from different religious backgrounds, they agreed to attend a non-denominational church. They started attending a Calvary Chapel while stationed in California in 2004. Michael and Shannon have served in Children's, Women's, and Men's ministries. They began working with the Youth while attending a Calvary in Jacksonville, FL in 2010. When moving to Columbia, SC in 2013, they wanted to continue encouraging Youth to grow in their faith and knowledge of the Lord while growing lasting relationships and having fun! We are always open to teenagers joining our group and look forward to meeting you!.

Entering the United States Army after graduation from college, Mike Frisina began attending a nondenominational church in Kentucky where he met his wife, Sue, who had been a part of Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa. Sue started giving Mike audio teachings from Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa Pastor Chuck Smith.  After 30 years, they are still passing them along to other believers.

In 1986, the Lord led Mike and Sue to the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York. Mike was on staff and faculty teaching moral philosophy and other courses on ethics and leadership.  They had started and led Bible studies with each of their military moves and West Point was no exception. The excitement for a Spirit-filled study eventually led them to start a Calvary Chapel at West Point. That year they went to Canandaigua, New York to the pastors' conference, and with the blessing of the Lord, Pastor Chuck Smith and other senior pastors, including Mike MacIntosh, Don McClure, and Bill Galatin, laid hands on Mike for ministry and ordained him to the call the Lord had placed on his life.

Since that time Mike and Sue believed that the Lord would call them again in His grace and timing to start and pastor another Calvary Chapel. Stepping out in faith and standing on the promise of His word, they launched Calvary Chapel Northeast Columbia in January of 2002. They pray and believe that the Lord will use this church as a blessing to those who are seeking to grow strong in their faith from the teaching of God's word and worship in contemporary praise to the Lord. Today the Lord continues to bless as Calvary Chapel Northeast Columbia has become a growing, vibrant and dynamic influence for change in the lives of countless of people.

Wendy and her husband, Reggie, met in 1993 while they were both attending Newberry College here in S.C. and were married in 1997. Wendy is a Paralegal and also a licensed insurance producer and currently works for a local State Farm agent. Reggie is a foreman with Commercial Roofing Associates.  They have been blessed with three children, Kayla, Lexi and Bryson. The family began attending CCNE in August 2004, where they each received Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. Wendy has been involved with the both the children/youth ministry and worship ministry since starting at CCNE. She has always had a heart for worship and a desire to see the body experience a deeper connection with the Lord by opening their hearts to Him in praise and worship.  She also has a deep love for the children and youth at CCNE and loves watching them grow in their walk with Christ and in finding their spiritual gifts. The Lord has truly blessed her by allowing her to be able to combine her passion for both in her ministry as the Worship Team Leader here at CCNE.
